Philipp Kant combines deep expertise in distributed systems, formal methods, and performance engineering with a strong focus on building systems that work reliably in production. With a background in theoretical physics and experience across academia and industry, he brings a pragmatic approach to developing high-assurance software.

Philipp Kant combines deep expertise in distributed systems, formal methods, and performance engineering with a strong focus on building systems that work reliably in production. With a background in theoretical physics and experience across academia and industry, he brings a pragmatic approach to developing high-assurance software.

At IOHK, he served as Director of Formal Methods and Technical Director for Cardano, where he led large engineering teams and helped bring a research-driven blockchain system into production at global scale. His work contributed to the design of Cardano and to engineering practices that balance formal rigour with effective delivery.

Through his work with the Mina ecosystem, he developed expertise in zero-knowledge proofs and their applications.

Philipp Kant co-founded Ensurable Systems with Kevin Hammond to build robust, high-integrity blockchain systems for organisations with the highest demands on correctness, security, and performance.

As Head of Engineering for Cardano Core at Input Output Global he led the development of the Cardano node and ledger that power the Cardano blockchain.  He co-founded Ensurable Systems with Philipp Kant to develop rigorous blockchain solutions for customers who demand the highest standards of software development.
